What WAGs are at the World Cup?

Posted June 14, 2010 By World Cup Wags

So Fabio Capello bans all the WAGs from turning up to South Africa but who didn’t listen to Fabio and who flew over to take the limelight and give their boys some home comforts on the sly??

The first batch of England WAGs have already landed in South Africa two days ago and things are hotting up in the WAGs corner.

Matthew Upson and Emile Heskey’s girls were the first to hit swanky resort Sun City. But Ellie Darby, 28, and scouse sex bomb Chantelle Tagoe, 26, shunned the six-star Lost Palace to join their families at the Vacation Club.

The Daily Star reported that Ellie Darby, who arrived with her mum and the couple’s one-year-old son Elijah, roared: “Come on England! I think we’re going to do really well in the World Cup. All the family are behind Matthew and the boys and we’ve been really looking forward to it.”

But Ellie was back in Africa for more than just sun, sand and sea after helping out poverty-stricken children in BBC3 documentary WAGs, Kids And World Cup Dreams.

She said of defender Matthew, 31: “Hopefully we’ll get to see him play. I know he’s desperate to represent his country and show what he can do.”

Ellie said: “I definitely plan to go and see our friends at some stage.”

Other football clans staying at the Vacation Club are Aaron Lennon and Peter Crouch’s families, although Crouch’s wonder WAG Abbey Clancy remained in the UK.

Top World Cup WAGs including Victoria Beckham, 36, and Carly Zucker, 26, will fly out later this week to visit the team as they look to progress further through the group stages. Maybe this is what England need to perform, so to speak.

However, sexy scousers Coleen Rooney, 24, Alex Gerrard, 27, and Abbey Clancy will not travel until the semi-final stage after their partners told them they had to listen to Fabio’s requests. What the gaffer says, goes..

The Wags are in the World Cup with more turning up every day.. It’s hotting up in South Africa.

Danielle Lineker, wife of Gary Lineker, has been reported saying that WAGs could ruin England’s chances in the World Cup finals.

The former lingerie model, who is the new host of the special behind-the-scenes programme on England’s preparations for the football tournament, spoke out to slam the (WAGS) wives and girlfriends who have flown to South Africa to watch their partners play during the World Cup (Breaking the ban put in place by Fabio Capello).

Danielle believes that WAGs such as Chantelle Tagoe, Ellie Darby and Carly Zucker were wrong to defy Fabio Capello’s ban.
Lineker told the Daily Star Sunday: “I do hope the WAGS keep it low-key.

“All the stuff last time must have been a distraction for the players.

“If they go to South Africa they should keep a low profile because at the end of the day the team have a job to do.”

She added: “I will only be there for a week. And anyway, I don’t see myself as a WAG. That’s not my style.”

WAGS are not banned from World Cup says Rooney

Posted May 26, 2010 By World Cup Wags

England’s very own Wayne Rooney has been telling the great British press that England’s WAGS are not indeed not banned from South Africa World Cup 2010.

The England and Manchester United football star Rooney insists the all wives, girlfriends and family members will be allowed to attend World Cup games.

Although Fabio Capello has stated that he wanted to avoid the SVEN WAG curse and the inevitable circus of having WAGS parading around Rooney is let slip that WAGS are allowed.

Wayne Rooney says he won’t be stopping wife Coleen bringing his son, Kai, over to watch and has said “I don’t know how many times I’ve heard this. If they want to go they can go. End of. I’ve said many times I’m not stopping them. They’re England fans as well.

Well done Wayne.. Sticking up for the WAGS of this world will do your popularity no end of help..

The Telegraph reports today that The Royal Opera House is to stage a series of new operas featuring football supporters, WAGs and women taking pregnancy tests.

Whilst traditionally the Opera House is known for its operatic heroes, the likes of Wagner and Mozart, its now to stage a new series of operas with our lovely WAGS at the centre of them..

According to the Telegraph, this year’s summer season at the opera house in Covent Garden, London, will feature “Opera Shots”, a triple bill of short, modern operas from three composers experimenting with the genre for the first time.

The opera will feature football chants from several clubs, including Liverpool’s “Steve Gerrard, Gerrard/He’ll pass the ball 40 yards/He’s big and he’s fucking hard/Steve Gerrard, Gerrard” and Milwall’s “No-one likes us/No-one likes us/No-one likes, we don’t care/We are Milwall, super Milwall/ We are Milwall from the Den”.

The piece will also include the storylines of WAGs – footballers’ wives and girlfriends – with a penchant for cosmetic surgery, who worry about their weight and their partners’ infidelity.

John Lloyd Davies, the head of opera development at the Royal Opera House, said “With a lot of contemporary opera, it feels as if the genre has got stuck in a run-of-the-mill rut. “We hope that with Opera Shots, we get something theatrically that shakes things up and breaks down barriers, opening the minds of our traditional audience and opening opera up to a new audience.”

WorldCupWags can’t wait to review these little Opera show beauties. What’s better than going along to the Opera to watch stories all about our lovely WAGS, indulge in a bit of stage fashion and all safe in the mind that their WAG stories and Football rumours are all made up for our delight – so you can guess their stories will be totally WAG mad…

Bookmaker to Send World Cup Wag Dildos to all the Wags

Posted April 4, 2010 By World Cup Wags

In a very novel World Cup Wags advertising stunt, Paddy Power the Irish Bookmaker, has manufactured a special “Word Cup Widow Aid” based on the design of the trophy itself.

Paddy Power, as gracious as always, designed this World Cup Window Aid to help cheer up all the WAGs that Mr Fabio Capello has banned from attending the South African tournament. With many of the WAGS being left at home on their own for the duration of England’s involvement, we are sure that the World Cup Widow Aid will be in plentiful use. Let’s not forget as well that these “World Cup WAG widows” will also be banned from the TV when England are playing!

The limited edition “souvenirs” will be sent to each England World Cup WAG that is left behind, and Paddy Power say they have “a limited quantity available to the public on a first come first served basis.”

Sharon McHugh, head of Paddy Power new product development, said “There are certain to be tens of thousands of World Cup widows this summer and we believe that with a helping hand from Paddy they too will enjoy the buzz of the World Cup”

This certainly brings a new meaning to the old England mascot “World Cup Willy”!

Here’s hoping that good old Cheryl has already got her hands on one as these World Cup Willys so she doesn’t miss her estranged husband Ashley too much and end up taking him back..

Cheryl Cole sets sights on US X Factor

Posted March 24, 2010 By World Cup Wags

Fresh from her Live Lounge appearance on BBC Radio1 yesterday and off the back of some tough questions over the last few weeks around her impending divorce to Ashley Cole, X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole has admitted that she would love the chance to be on the US panel of Xfactor.

Cheryl Cole is surrounded by photographers as she arrives at Radio Ones Live Lounge studios in Londons Maida Vale

Cheryl’s worry though?? That she would not win over the US viewers. Together with this the singer said American audiences would not know who she was, and may not be able to understand her Geordie accent.

Cheryl Cole told Radio 1 presenter Fearne Cotton she would get a real ”buzz” out of doing the show, although she said it was a ”scary” prospect.

Whilst Cheryl has not directly been asked to be involved in the US equivilant of XFactor, she’s knwn to be close to Simon Cowell who is busy preparing the soon to be hit US show.

Continuing the talk with Fearne, Cheryl said: ”It’s kind of really scary, you know? Why would they give a beep what I thought? I think I always feel like that. They don’t know me out there and I’ve got this weird accent and they’d be a bit like, ‘what?’. ”I love the thought of it and I would absolutely love to do it. The talent out there is phenomenal so I would get an absolute buzz out of doing it – but whether or not they would buzz off me is a different thing.”

The Girls Allowed star admitted she was feeling a little ”worse for wear” as she appeared on Cotton’s show to sing live after going on a drinking session with her Girls Aloud band mates.

Cheryl, who pulled out of a number of performances earlier this month because of a chest infection, said: ”No bronchitis but maybe I shouldn’t have drunk so much last night.’

Looks like Cheryl is getting it all back together and World Cup Wags could not be more happy for her.
